HOA-Friendly Junk Removal
in Charlotte

In a master-planned Charlotte suburb, you can't just drag a couch to the curb and wait — the HOA won't have it, and the city's curbside pickup can take up to five business days anyway. So we do the opposite: we load everything straight from the home, and you never stage anything at the curb. One trip, one flat photo price from a $75 minimum, no covenant letter, no pile out front. Same-day when a slot's open, across Ballantyne, Steele Creek, Highland Creek and Huntersville — and no NC sales tax.

The suburban Charlotte junk problem, in two parts

If you live in Ballantyne, Steele Creek, Highland Creek, Huntersville or any of Charlotte's master-planned communities, getting rid of a couch or a garage of clutter runs into two rules at once. First, the HOA covenants: most communities here prohibit leaving bulky items at the curb, or limit how long anything can sit out — set a sofa on the street and you're risking a violation notice. Second, the city's timing: even where curbside is allowed, City of Charlotte Solid Waste bulky pickup is by appointment with up to about five business days to wait, so the item sits out front the whole time. Put those together and the "free" curbside option either isn't allowed on your street or leaves a pile out for a week. The clean answer is to never use the curb — which is exactly how we work.

How “loaded from the home” works

1 · Send a photo

Snap the couch, the garage, the pile — wherever it is inside. You get an exact flat price back in seconds, no in-home estimate.

2 · Pick a window

Choose a time — same or next day is often open across the suburbs. Nothing needs to go outside before we arrive.

3 · We carry it out

A vetted, insured crew backs into the driveway, carries everything out from inside or the garage, and hauls it in one trip. Not a single piece touches the curb.

How much does HOA-friendly junk removal cost in Charlotte?

It's a flat photo-quoted price — a single item, or a garage or whole-room load priced as truck-fill — with loading and disposal already in the number and a $75 minimum. There's no premium for being full-service or for keeping it off the curb; the number below is the number you pay.

What you're clearingFlat price
A single item (e.g. mattress $103, sofa $126)From the $75 minimum
Quarter truck (a corner or a single garage bay)$241
Half truck (one full bay / a few rooms)$431
Three-quarter truck$587
Full truck (a packed two-car garage)$732

A bigger clear simply takes more than one truck — we quote the total flat from your photos. Appliances, a treadmill, a hot tub and old furniture are all part of the fill with no per-item surcharge. No NC sales tax on the service — the flat price is all-in.

Does the city bulky pickup work in an HOA neighborhood?

Rarely, cleanly. City of Charlotte Solid Waste offers free curbside bulky pickup, booked through CharMeck 311 (704-336-7600) or servicerequest.charlottenc.gov, but it's built around the curb: by appointment, up to about five business days to wait, items at the curb by 6:00 AM on the scheduled day with three feet of clearance, small heavy pieces capped near 75 pounds, and no TVs, computers, construction debris or HVAC units. In an HOA community that whole model collides with the covenants — a sofa isn't supposed to sit at the curb for a week in the first place. And if you're in one of the towns — Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, Huntersville, Cornelius or Davidson — you're on the town's own program, not the city's, with its own rules. Loading from the home skips all of it: no curb, no appointment gamble, no covenant risk, and we take the TVs, electronics and debris the city turns down.

What we haul, straight from the home

  • Furniture — sofas, sectionals, mattresses, dressers, dining sets and the pieces replaced by something new.
  • Garage & storage clutter — boxes, bikes, holiday bins, paint, shelving and tools.
  • Appliances — fridge, washer, dryer, water heater; freon-refrigerant units handled the EPA-certified way.
  • Heavy & awkward gear — a treadmill or home gym, a hot tub, a grill or a riding mower.
  • New-build move-in debris — crates, flattened boxes, foam and offcuts after a fresh closing.
  • The stuff the city won't take — TVs and electronics (banned from NC landfills), plus construction and renovation debris.

When suburban Charlotte calls us

  • Furniture upgrade — the old sofa or mattress needs to disappear the day the new one is delivered, without a curb pile.
  • New-build move-in — a garage full of packing debris after closing in Berewick, Rivergate or a new Huntersville subdivision.
  • Garage reclaim — years of accumulation cleared so two cars fit again.
  • Listing prep — a fast, curb-free clear so the house and driveway show clean for photos.
  • Relocation move-out — a corporate transfer clearing the house on the movers' date, HOA rules intact.
  • Appliance or hot-tub swap — the old unit carried out and hauled, nothing left on the street.

Why HOA neighborhoods choose JunkRabbit

  • Nothing at the curb, ever — loaded from the home, so no covenant violation and no five-day wait.
  • Flat photo price — from a $75 minimum, truck-fill up to $732; no full-service premium, no NC sales tax.
  • Same or next day — windows that fit a delivery, a listing or a relocation date.
  • We take what the city won't — TVs, electronics and debris, with donation and recycling included.

What Charlotte HOA homeowners say

★★★★★

"Our Highland Creek HOA sends letters if anything sits at the curb, so the free city pickup was never an option. JunkRabbit carried the old sectional and a treadmill straight out of the bonus room. Flat price from a photo, nothing on the street, done the next morning."

— Anthony D., Highland Creek (28269)
★★★★★

"Brand new build in Huntersville — the garage was full of boxes and foam and our community is strict about the curb. They loaded every bit from the garage, no pile out front for the HOA to flag. Fair flat quote, no tax at the end."

— Kelsey & Rob M., Huntersville (28078)
★★★★★

"New couch was being delivered and I needed the old one gone same day without leaving it at the curb. One photo, flat price, and they carried it out of the living room. Exactly the HOA-friendly service I was looking for in Berewick."

— Tamara W., Steele Creek (28278)

HOA-friendly junk removal questions, answered

How do you keep me out of an HOA violation?

We load everything straight from the home, garage or driveway into the truck and haul it in one trip — nothing is ever set at the curb, so there's no pile for the HOA to flag and no five-day city wait.

How much does it cost?

A flat photo price with a $75 minimum — a sofa $126, a mattress $103, or a garage/room load as truck-fill from $241 up to $732. Loading and disposal included, no NC sales tax.

Which HOA neighborhoods do you cover?

Ballantyne, Steele Creek, Highland Creek and Huntersville, plus HOA communities in Matthews, Mint Hill, Providence and Cornelius — the master-planned suburbs where curb rules bite.

Can you clear new-build move-in debris?

Yes — the garage full of crates, boxes and foam after a closing, loaded from the garage so nothing sits out front for a strict new HOA.

Do you take appliances and heavy items?

Yes — fridge (freon handled), washer, dryer, water heater, treadmill, hot tub, mattresses and full garages, all carried out, none of it at the curb.

How is this different from the free city pickup?

The city is free but curbside-only, by appointment, up to ~5 business days, under 75 lb, no TVs/C&D/HVAC — and in an HOA the curb pile isn't allowed anyway. We're same/next day, loaded from the home, and take what the city won't.
