Bulky Pickup Around Charlotte — Town by Town
Mecklenburg County doesn’t run one bulky system; it runs a patchwork. What your town offers decides whether you need a hauler at all.
City of Charlotte
Free if you schedule it through 311 or the CLT+ app and you get City garbage service. Items go out no sooner than the day before and no later than 6 a.m., three feet apart. Unscheduled items stay put, and construction debris and electronics aren’t taken.
Huntersville, Matthews & Davidson
Huntersville residents fill out an application and pay a fee. Matthews offers special pickup for white goods and bulky items, with possible fees. Davidson caps bulky collection at four cubic yards and sends white goods to the North Mecklenburg center.
Mint Hill, Cornelius & the County
Mint Hill says bulky items must be privately hauled. Cornelius has no bulky pickup at all. In unincorporated Mecklenburg there’s no county collection — residents contract a private hauler.
Pineville
Scheduled bulky pickup is available, but televisions and computers are excluded. Those have to be recycled — North Carolina bars them from landfills.
If your town takes it and you can get it to the curb on time, the free route is the cheaper one. We’re for the rest: towns with no pickup, loads that are still inside, TVs and computers, and anyone who can’t wait for the scheduled day. Outside Mecklenburg — Gaston, Cabarrus, Union and the South Carolina side — check your own town or county hauler.
